309S Stainless Steel Plate is a low-carbon austenitic stainless steel, making it the highly weldable variation of Grade 309. It is characterized by high levels of chromium and nickel, giving it excellent resistance to oxidation and corrosion at elevated temperatures (up to 1830℉ or 980℃). The low carbon content minimizes carbide precipitation during welding, which preserves its corrosion resistance. This plate is primarily used in high-temperature industrial applications, such as furnace components, oven linings, heat exchangers, boiler baffles, and thermowells, where sustained heat and corrosion resistance are critical for long service life.
