254SMO Stainless Steel Plate is a super austenitic stainless steel characterized by high levels of molybdenum, chromium, and nitrogen, giving it an extremely high Pitting Resistance Equivalent Number (PREN > 40). This composition provides outstanding resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking in highly aggressive environments like seawater and acidic chloride solutions. It is the material of choice for severe service in the offshore, chemical processing, and pulp and paper industries for equipment such as scrubbers and heat exchangers.
