409 Stainless Steel Coil is a titanium-stabilized ferritic stainless steel containing a minimum of 10.5% Chromium. It is magnetic.It offers a sensible balance of heat resistance, corrosion resistance (superior to carbon steel), and cost-effectiveness, along with good weldability and formability. Note that it is prone to surface rusting and not used for cosmetic purposes.This grade is essential as a low-cost, high-performance option for elevated temperature service, primarily in automotive exhaust systems (manifolds, mufflers, pipes), catalytic converters, and certain heat exchangers and farm equipment.
